When your child is diagnosed with a syndrome under the Autism umbrella, your life suddenly turns upside down. Some may be fortunate enough to receive an early diagnosis, where others it takes years. Getting the diagnosis is difficult, but once you have it, it is clear as to why your child is so different from the other children and you can begin to take the steps necessary to help your child and yourself. A fortunate piece to this puzzle is that because of the increase in diagnosing individuals with Autism (1 out of 150), people, in general, are more aware than ever before; and since there are never enough resources and supports, we are making great strides in meeting it head on.
